Petmalu! A 68-year-old Filipina amazed the judges during the opening episode of Asia’s Got Talent Season 2 as she burst into a cool version of ‘Price Tag’ by Jessie J. She was singing with ease even the song’s rap verses.
As Mercifuletes Viola a.k.a. #RappingGrandma took off her floor-length dress to reveal her hip-hop ensemble with her complete bling-bling on, everyone was in awe.
The judges complimented her for her performance. The Indonesian musician Anggun said that Viola undoubtedly bewitched the crowd. South Korean hip-hop singer-songwriter Jay Park praised her for rapping on the beat.
David Foster also gave his approval, and he went up on stage to give Viola a kiss. Luckily, #RappingGrandma received a resounding three ‘YES’. She will now be advancing to the next stage of the competition on November 9.
